The studio isn’t wheel chair accessible, and you are welcome to come to Samshin Studio in Deptford which is wheel chair accessible.
The treatment room is on the first floor of the building, with 8 wide stairs down into the building and 21 wide stairs up to the treatment room. Both sets of stairs have hand banisters either side.
The couch is hydraulic and adjustable, and can hold up to 200kg, and is 72cm wide.
Option of using intercom system for entry, or messaging via text or WhatsApp on arrival. I will also always come and greet you at the front door to the building at the start of your session time if you haven’t buzzed or messaged. Some people just enjoy waiting outside by the trees.

Wheelchair accessibility
There is a dropped curb outside the venue. There are no steps into or in the building. There is a 3cm raised edge at the bottom of the front door.
The bathroom is large, with an accessibility rail to the right of the toilet as you are facing it, a low sink, and emergency cord. There is also a changing places toilet located 1 minute from the venue in Brighton Station.
Wheelchair storage is available in the small back room, behind the studio. Please talk with me about any help needed getting up and down from the treatment bed or floor, or about bringing a carer with you.
Space dimensions
Our small studio is 4m by 6m. The doors on entry and into the bathroom are 80cm wide.
Facilities
Treatment Couch
The treatment table is 185cm long, or 210cm including the headrest. The bed is 69cm wide, and holds 205kg, and is non hydraulic.
Chairs
Our folding chairs are large and reinforced. Width: 51cm. Depth: 52cm. Weight Capacity: 204kgs
Baby change
We have a baby change table available, as well as a play mat, and toys.
The baby change table is foldable and can be moved into the backroom to keep the bathroom clear for wheelchairs. If you need help moving the table, please ask.
Hygiene and sickness
Gather is cleaned regularly and all staff have good hygiene practices. I always establish a clean field to work from and practice clean needle technique with each client.
We use a Blueair purifier, please ask if you would like it to be on during your visit. Where weather possible, the space will also be ventilated by open windows.
Our policies ask people to stay home if they are unwell to avoid spreading any illness. Gather is a mask-positive space and you are welcome to wear a face covering. You can also request me to wear a face mask in your session too.

There’s a number of places aimed to be financially accessible for people that do not currently have the means to pay the regular fee. There are very low cost and lower cost spaces available at Samshin studio in Deptford and at Gather Studio in Brighton, but no longer at Green Temple Studio.
People that are refugees and asylum seekers, have the right to remain or have these life events as part of their histories and are now British citizens, along with people who are homeless or in temporary accommodation are encouraged to contact me. People who are still currently or have been historically marginalised, for example, people who are part of the global majority, LGBTQ gypsy, Roma and travellers, people with disabilities, those who are part of the intersex, trans, gender-nonconforming and queer community, HIV survivors and thrivers, LGBT elders, along with people who are single parents or full-time carers, are also encouraged to be in touch to see if any low/lower cost places are available if they need them.
I won't assume you need a low/lower cost place and you will need to tell me if you want to access one. Please spend some time thinking about how much you can afford to pay, for at least 6 -12 sessions. Cost for treatment needs to be agreed in advance of the treatment and booking being made. If your financial situation changes while we are working together and you need a low cost place, please let me know ahead of making a booking and we can see what we can make work. Similarly, if your financial situation changes while working together and you could offer more for your treatment sessions, please let me know. If you are someone who pays the regular fee, you also have the option of adding on extra payment to support the communities your are part of, or are around you accessing acupuncture with me.
***PLEASE NOTE*** Low and lower cost places are mostly at capacity but it is worth getting in touch to see what’s possible or be added to a short waitlist.

I aim to communicate clearly and let you know ahead of time as much as possible when there is change. I work in a way that is person centred, and adapt my work and way of working to each person and their needs. For example, if you are someone who needs to stim regularly with your hands, I can put needles in your body away from your lower arms so you are more free to move if you want to. You are welcome to tell me if something is working well for you and you want me to keep doing it, or if you would like something to change.
My treatment rooms have ambient and adjustable light levels, and you are invited to tell me if you want me to change the lighting in the treatment room when you are there. The temperature in the treatment rooms is also easily adjusted, so let me know if you would like the treatment room to be warmer or cooler. I use essential oils and burn a herb called mugwort(moxa) during some sessions. Please let me know if you are very sensitive to smell, or particular types of smell so I can clear the air of the treatment room before you arrive.

English is my first language and I am not currently fluent, or at a conversational level in any other languages. I have previously worked with translators present in treatment sessions. Please let me know if you have an interpreter for another language or BSL you need to have with you in the session.

I work in an appreciative and affirming way with people of all gender identities and sexualities in my practice and use non-gendered language, especially around hormonal, reproductive and genitourinary health, unless otherwise directed by you. Having navigated my own healthcare as a white, able-bodied, neuro-diverse and trans masc queer person, I understand some of the frustrations, nuances, barriers and erasure many LGBTQIA+ people can face when seeking support with their health and wellbeing. I also understand there are many people who have many different experiences to my own within healthcare, especially those who are global majority, asexual or have a physical disability, and I am continually aiming to create safer and more culturally competent spaces where I can. I‘m sensitive, self-reflective, and responsive in my work, and will always take onboard any feedback you give me about how I can meet your needs more.
